Simple Saver buys about a week’s worth of power at a reduced price every month. The amount you save changes with the amount of electricity you use. The more you use the more you save.

Our customers tell us the more they know about their electricity use the more they save power and money.

We developed Simple Saver to reward all our customers for checking their Powershop account at least once a month and help them save.

If you’ve purchased Simple Saver through the banner on your Weekly Update email, payment is usually scheduled for three days later. We'll send you an email reminding you of the amount and when it will be taken from your bank account. Just like our usual refund process, you've got 48 hours to cancel the transaction.

Sometimes we’ll need to deal with payment a little differently. We’ll always let you know when we’re planning to take payment and anything else you need to do by email.

What is Simple Saver?

Simple Saver is a new monthly special available in our online shop. We want our residential customers to be rewarded for shopping for power and getting involved.

How much will it save me?

All customers are different, but a typical residential customer should save around $100 per year.

How much power does Simple Saver buy me?

Simple Saver is approximately a week’s worth of units.

How do I buy it?

Simple Saver will be included as a button on your weekly Powershop Postie email. If you click on that it will take you through to the shop so you can buy it. You’ll also see it when you login to the shop along with our other specials. It takes as little as a couple of minutes each month.

What’s in it for Powershop?

This is our way of encouraging you to stay with us rather than risk losing you by making a quick buck from hiking our prices.

What happens if I miss the notification in my weekly email?

No problem if you miss the notification in your weekly email, we’ll remind you each week for the remainder of the month until you purchase your Simple Saver.

What if I miss out?

Unfortunately, the special can only be purchased in that month. But don’t worry if you miss one as there’ll be another next month.

Why don’t you just buy Simple Saver for me?

We believe the more you know about your electricity usage, the more you’re able to manage and monitor both the amount you use and how much it costs you, which means you have the opportunity to save more. It only takes a few minutes each month to access the best deals available through Powershop. We also want to reward our customers for getting involved and shopping.

How do I know how much I’ve saved?

We’ll confirm your savings following your purchase each month.

Should I still buy other power products and specials?

Yes. You’ll still be able to purchase the other specials and deals on offer. Simple Saver is an addition to our regular specials, giving you another opportunity to make savings on your electricity costs.

Any unused expired units from other products and specials you buy will be refunded to your Powershop account. See our refunds page for more details.

Why is the dollar value of Simple Saver different each month?

We base the dollar amount of your Simple Saver on your usage. As your usage changes so will the size of our Simple Saver special. The more you use, the bigger the savings we deliver.

Why is my Simple Saver different from my friends?

Just as our unit price is individual so is Simple Saver. It’s based on your usage and meter configuration.

The savings you show in your savings calculator are not the same as what I see in the store. Why?

The calculator is based on the savings made by engaged customers; those who log in regularly to check their usage and buy power. A little active buying of our simple saver product once a month is all it takes.

Simple saver is available for a calender month only, but my billing cycle falls outside the calendar month, how does this work?

Simple Saver works like our other products. Units must be used the first time we review your account after the "Use by" date. Your account will be credited with the original purchase price for any expired units.
