In order to be eligible for this offer:
- you must meet Powershop’s standard customer eligibility criteria (including credit criteria, refer to the Powershop Customer Terms & Conditions for more information);
- you must be a new customer of Powershop;
- you must have a smart meter where Powershop is able to process your half-hour consumption data and;
- you (or anyone else residing at your property) must not have received credit or any other offer for signing up to Powershop within the last 12 months.
You’ll get the first weekend (12 am on Saturday till 11:59 pm on Sunday) of each month for free for twelve months. Your first free weekend will be the first full weekend of the month after you have joined Powershop (completely switched over) under this offer, so if you join on the Saturday or Sunday of the first weekend of the month, your first free weekend will be the following month. You’ll still get 12 free weekends. We’ll remind you before each free weekend that it is coming up via our app and/or email.
After each free weekend, we’ll use all reasonable endeavours to credit your account for the electricity charges associated with that weekend within 10 working days.
The First Weekend of Every Month Free offer is subject to an expectation of fair use. Powershop’s expectation of fair use is based on the average weekend electricity consumption of a residential consumer. This offer allows for 250 kWh of electricity usage over the relevant weekend. It’s around 6 times the average of a current residential customer's weekend consumption so you should be sweet. Any electricity usage over the 250 kWh limit for that weekend will be charged at the standard rate applicable. If we consider that your usage is in breach of Powershop’s expectation of fair use, Powershop reserves the right, without further notice, to immediately suspend or remove this offer from your account.
The First Weekend of Every Month Free offer is intended for standard legal residential use only and is not to be used for commercial activities or purposes.
Powershop may, at its sole discretion, either decline to apply, or remove any sign up offer granted, where it reasonably believes that a customer or other residents at a property have already received a sign up credit or offer for that property within the last 12 months.
Powershop may require proof of identification, and/or a tenancy agreement or sale and purchase agreement in order to verify eligibility for this offer and the date that you took control of the property.
This offer is currently available in Auckland (Vector and United networks), Canterbury (Orion network), Wellington (Wellington Electricity network), Hamilton (WEL Networks), East Waikato (Powerco network), Coromandel (Powerco network), Hawkes Bay (Unison network), Dunedin (Aurora network), Taranaki (Powerco network), Manawatu (Powerco network), Wanganui (Powerco network), Rangitikei (Powerco network), Hawera (Powerco network) and Wairarapa (Powerco network).
