Living in Southland can mean higher power usage and costs, so it’s a good idea to put some practices into place to reduce these as much as possible:
- Moving activity into overnight off-peak times with a pricing model that gives discounted off peak kWh usage rates - note that off peak for your region sits between 11pm and 7am, so this plan is best suited for those at home late like night shift workers!
- Reducing the weekly reliance on appliances that draw lots of power.
- Making the most of clear days with outside drying of laundry in fresh air.
